Recently, the DHC passed an ex-parte ad interim injunction order against the defendant for allegedly copying the CUET examination and preparation content from the website of www.careerlauncher.com.
During the peak enrolment season for the course, the defendant allegedly copied the complete course material (verbatim copy), layout, look and feel, user interface and design of the plaintiff’s website on its website ww.mycucetprep.com.
However, on receipt of the legal notice, the defendant took down his website.
On finding the infringement of its copyright, the plaintiff (www.careerlauncher.com) filed a suit in the DHC and obtained the ex-parte injunction order directing the defendants:
a: to restrain from reproducing any part of Plaintiff’s website in respect of ‘CUET examination and preparation content’ on its website www.mycucetprep.com
b. to place on record the data relating to the total enrolment which it has undertaken for CUET examination between 1st February and 31st June, 2022, fee charged per student.
